Competitive Supplier Rules Up for Review in New Hampshire

The New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission is in the process of revising its rules pertaining to competitive electric power suppliers (or CEPSs) and competitive natural gas marketers.

The proposed new rules, Puc 2000 and Puc 3000 (links will open PDFs), define and clarify key terms and registration and renewal deadlines.  Both proposed rules also remove an exemption for self-suppliers: entities that wish to self-supply natural gas or electric power will have to register as CEPSs or competitive natural gas marketers and comply with the applicable rule’s filing, reporting, and other requirements.

Comments on the rules are due by July 22, 2010, and a public hearing will be held July 15, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the NHPUC in Concord, NH.
